NEW - Severe weather shelter open Thanksgiving night through the weekend
Due to expected foul weather conditions, the Kitsap County Department of Emergency Management will activate the county’s Severe Weather Shelter Plan. The shelter will open Thursday night, November 27 until Monday morning, December 1. Hours of operation are 6 PM until 7 AM each night. Guests are not able to check into the shelter after 10 PM.

Applications open for Boundary Review Board, Board of Equalization and Planning Commission
Kitsap County residents have the opportunity to provide input to re-mapping boundaries, assessed property taxes and county code revisions by serving as representatives on county advisory groups. There are currently vacancies for an at-large representative on the Washington State Boundary Review Board; a District 1 (North Kitsap) representative on the Board of Equalization; and District 1 (North Kitsap) and District 2 (South Kitsap) representatives on the Kitsap County Planning Commission.

Applications open for new non-motorized facilities advisory council
As part of the newly formed Kitsap County Non-Motorized Facilities Citizens Advisory Committee, residents will have the opportunity to review existing and proposed local and regional non-motorized transportation routes; help prioritize non-motorized projects, funding and implementation; and review the safety and maintenance of existing facilities.
